Every Porsche person has heard it: “PTS adds huge money.”

Sometimes that’s true. Sometimes it’s forum folklore. We built PTS Delta because the market deserves better than guesswork.

So we started where signal is strongest: the 991.2 GT3 market.

The question we wanted to answer

Not “is PTS cool?” — everyone already knows the answer to that. The real question is: how much does special paint actually move resale value once cars hit the open market?

What we measured (first beta pass)

Early findings

  • Observed gross PTS premium: +$47,619 (+23.0%) vs standard-color comps
  • Observed Touring premium: +$52,640 (+27.6%) vs winged GT3 comps
  • PTS + Touring average: $276,875

Translation: spec stack matters. Paint can be powerful, but paint plus the right trim/transmission combo is where price dislocations get real.

This is exactly why we’re excited: once this gets scaled across more generations and cleaner mileage coverage, the dataset becomes seriously useful for pricing decisions.

Why this is still beta (and why that matters)

We’re publishing this now because the signal is meaningful — but we’re not pretending this is a finished valuation engine yet.

  • Mileage is missing in 31.5% of current records
  • PTS sample size is still limited
  • Most individual colors don’t yet have enough repeat sales for high-confidence color-level claims

Bottom line: this is signal, not gospel.

What this means for buyers, sellers, and dealers

Buyers: you can stop paying blind “rarity tax” without comp support.

Sellers: you can stop leaving money on the table when your spec truly is an outlier.

Dealers: you can identify mispriced inventory faster when market sentiment and sale comps diverge.

What we’re building next

  1. Expand 997.2 and broader model coverage
  2. Improve normalization across mileage / transmission / trim attributes
  3. Add confidence bands to every premium output
  4. Ship regression-backed pricing layers

PTS Delta is becoming a market intelligence layer for Porsche enthusiasts — not another opinion thread.
