The easy version of the Paint to Sample story is still too lazy.

Yes, PTS cars bring more money in the GT3 data. But the June read is showing something more useful than a generic “PTS adds value” take. The signal is getting cleaner in the modern GT3 datasets, while the halo-car set keeps reminding us that rarity and narrative can already be priced in before the paint gets a chance to matter.

PTS Delta premium by model, June 18 2026
The premium is real in GT3 data, but it is not evenly distributed across the Porsche halo stack.

The current snapshot

  • 991.2 GT3: +20.3% gross PTS premium, about +$42,046
  • 992 GT3: +10.8% gross PTS premium, about +$28,493
  • 997.2 GT3: +11.4% gross PTS premium, about +$19,292, but low confidence
  • 911 R / Speedster: -0.5%, about -$2,183

991.2 GT3 is no longer just noisy drama

The 991.2 GT3 dataset is now 144 sales deep, with 31 PTS cars, 113 standard-color cars, and only 0.7% missing mileage. That moves it into high-confidence territory.

Average PTS price is $249,347 against $207,301 for standard-color cars.

The 992 GT3 remains the cleanest repeat-sale market

The 992 GT3 has 167 sales, 41 PTS cars, 126 standard-color cars, high confidence, and only 3.0% missing mileage.

Paint and Touring are stacking

On both the 991.2 and 992 GT3, paint matters and Touring matters. The expensive cars often have both.

  • 991.2 GT3 PTS + Touring: 21 cars, $261,013 average
  • 992 GT3 PTS + Touring: 36 cars, $297,331 average

PTS is not acting alone. Touring is also showing up clearly in the GT3 data.

992 color signal is finally becoming useful

Color-level data is still thin, but the 992 GT3 is starting to show real repeat-sale clusters. Oak Green Metallic, British Racing Green, and Meissen Blue now have enough repeat data to be useful benchmarks.

Bottom line

The June PTS Delta read is not saying paint matters everywhere. It is saying the market is learning where paint matters most.

Right now, the strongest signals are 991.2 GT3 PTS and 992 GT3 PTS, especially when Touring enters the picture. The 997.2 GT3 needs more data. The 911 R / Speedster market remains its own separate pricing regime.

PTS Delta is derived from auction-market data and confidence-labeled estimates. It is market intelligence, not appraisal or financial advice.
